CES Fireside September 11, My dear young brothers and sisters, Kristen and I feel privileged to be with you on this significant occasion. It is forever associated with the Twin Towers. I have felt impressed to speak this evening about another set of twins, the twin ideas of Truth and Tolerance. These subjects were not chosen because they are uniquely your concern as young adults, like the dating, hanging out, and marriage I described to this audience some years ago. My treatment of Truth and Tolerance will invite you to consider and to teach these twin subjects because they are vital to the rising generation, in which you are the senior members. We believe in absolute truth, including the existence of God and the right and wrong established by His commandments. In the words of President Joseph F. No sect or religious denomination in the world possesses a single principle of truth that we do not accept or that we will reject. We are willing to receive all truth, from whatever source it may come; for truth will stand, truth will endure.

Are you an LDS family history junkie, a called consultant or just a smart parent who recognizes the promises to your children of protection from the adversary? Either way-I hope this post will help you with some ideas and inspiration to help you bring family History to life in your home with fun family history activities for youth that will help provide that extra protection for your children. LDS Family History Youth Fireside I was not prepared to serve in an LDS Family History calling with the youth but was quickly led to some amazing ideas online and combined with my seminary students suggestions-was able to put together a very productive event!
We began in the chapel with two youth sharing a story each of one of their ancestors. They even dressed the part! Then, I shared a brief testimony of family history and an experience I had in finding an ancestor. Our Bishop then shared his amazing testimony of this work. Some brought their parents phone, ipad or laptop. I recruited as many former and current family history consultants that I could think of. We also had a few parents come to help as well. You do need to be 13 to have your own account, so help of parents with younger ones was great.
We were able to get almost every single youth their own account that night!
Give as He gave.
Finding My Mission As a Gay Mormon – My bishop has been a great supporter of me being an authentically gay man who is also active in the Church and our ward. He asked me to write a letter to h A major theme of its opening chapters is the conversion of the former enemies of the Saints to “the Way.

In accountancy, depreciation refers to two aspects of the same concept: Businesses depreciate long-term assets for both tax and accounting purposes. The former affects the balance sheet of a business or entity, and the latter affects the net income that they report. Generally the cost is allocated, as depreciation expense, among the periods in which the asset is expected to be used.
This expense is recognized by businesses for financial reporting and tax purposes. Methods of computing depreciation, and the periods over which assets are depreciated, may vary between asset types within the same business and may vary for tax purposes. These may be specified by law or accounting standards, which may vary by country. There are several standard methods of computing depreciation expense, including fixed percentage, straight line, and declining balance methods.
Depreciation expense generally begins when the asset is placed in service.

Black people were permitted to be members of the church, and to participate in some temple ordinances, such as baptism for the dead. Young men are generally admitted to the Aaronic priesthood at age 12, and it is a significant rite of passage. Excluding black people from the priesthood meant that they could not hold significant church leadership roles or participate in certain spiritual events such as blessing the sick or giving other blessings reserved for priesthood holders.
These ordinances are considered essential to enter the highest degree of heaven, so this meant that black church members could not enjoy the full privileges enjoyed by other Latter Day Saints during the restriction. As church president, McKay taught that black people “need not worry, as those who receive the testimony of the restored gospel may have their family ties protected and other blessings made secure, for in the justice of the Lord they will possess all the blessings to which they are entitled in the eternal plan of Salvation and Exaltation.
This will have to be done
This can be combined with ideas from “I believe in Christ.” There is a song called “Never a Better Hero” in the book Greater Than Us All by Kenneth Cope. If you have a LDS gymnast, basketball player, football player, etc. in your area, she or he would be a good choice to give a talk on this subject.

A voice of understanding and hope. A recommended book list. Though LDS divorce rates are lower than the rest of the world, we are experiencing a growing family crisis. That is a large loss to the Church, and an even bigger loss to those who left the safety and protection of the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the time when they need it the most. Why are they leaving? Isn’t it bad enough that their family fell apart? Why would they let their religious convictions stray?
The sisters felt that the other sisters feared they would become predatory towards their own husbands by becoming single.
A History: ’s Word of the Year
Can we do that? It can be quite the controversial subject. How can you get to know someone if you have to be practically engaged before you can go on one? But as a few friends from other cultures have told me I live in the U.

The purpose of this post is to raise awareness of where many LDS intellectuals would like to move the Church. Again, the Joseph Smith Foundation will be providing materials to counter the statements in this article. The scholars quoted are also active members of the Church, although we disagree with their positions. Please see the end of the article for additional understanding.
I thought I would give you an idea of what we talk about during the Baptism Preview. The first talk is on the Faith in God program. When I prepare for this talk I usually review the Ensign article introducing the program by the Primary General Board.

Marleen Williams, a BYU professor with a PhD in clinical psychology, said the folklore about Mormon women is based on a television documentary that relied on statistics gathered in Salt Lake City, which has a predominant LDS community. There has been an overwhelming response from young women, their mothers, their leaders and mentors. We are seeing young women wearing the new medallion as well as the Honor Bee. What does this mean?
It means that young women are incorporating patterns of private religious behavior into their lives, serving others and strengthening their own families while preparing to be worthy to go to the temple. They are working in books and online; in fact, in one week the Personal Progress website had over 47, visitors. We wish to thank the Young Women leaders, parents and priesthood leaders for this outpouring of enthusiasm and support. And the young women are benefiting!
